Enya and Clannad to join in 30th bash

DONEGAL publican Leo Brennan, father of top entertainers Enya, Maire Brennan and members of Clannad, will celebrate 30 years in his famous Meenaleck tavern this weekend

And to mark the occaion a mini-festival of music starts today.

His famous family are all expected to turn up to join their dad and mum Baba for the bash.

Maire will perform an exclusive concert in the pub on Sunday night and members of Clannad and possibly Enya will also join in the party.

Fans of Enya and Clannad from all corners of the globe have converged on Leo's Tavern over the years to get a glimpse of the stage on which the now famous entertainers first performed.

Leo himself is famous for his singing and accordion skills but he also has another claim to fame.

During his 30 years in the pub pulling pints he has remained a Pioneer, something of a record for a publican.

"I've been serving beer and whisky for 30 years now and I have never touched a drop so I'll hardly start now," he said,
